Brainstorm is a specialized retail store catering to the needs of teachers, carrying a vast array of educational materials and classroom necessities.
The owner, a former teacher herself, recognized the need for a larger venue and asked Gillespie Design Group to design her new 9,000 SF retail facility in Lindenhurst, Illinois.
Hidden within the exterior walls of this building are Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF).
ICF is a unique stay-in-place form, providing insulation on both the exterior and interior sides of a concrete core, for cast-in-place concrete walls, creating sustainable, energy efficient buildings.
With exterior walls of very high insulation values and minimal air-infiltration rates, Brainstorm will weather any storm for years to come.
