The two schools, Johnsburg Junior High and Johnsburg Elementary Schools, feature individual cafeterias that are combinable providing flexible multi-purpose space, new kitchen and serveries, new gymnasium, new administration areas, isolated student and visitor entrances, and a complete renovation of those intricate interior spaces.
The Johnsburg Elementary School functions completely independently during the school day so that Elementary School students remain independent from Junior High students. Along with new classrooms and small group spaces, a large exterior courtyard figures prominently in the Elementary School renovations.
Gillespie Design Group formed a collaborative partnership with Ruck Pate Architecture to provide design services for the Johnsburg Elementary School.
