The re-purposing of the lower level, up until then used entirely for storage, of a recently renovated hotel, presented an opportunity to provide a fun, dynamic and entertaining gathering space for both guests and residents of the Waterfront Hotel, located in the Chain of Lakes area in northern Illinois.
The Wave Bar & Grille takes advantage of the tremendous water frontage, opening up to a terrace. Yet, the energy is not only found in the local patrons, the boating and entertainment, but in the singular design of the Wave Bar itself, cascading with internal colored lighting and undulating seating areas.
What began as a quest to maximize the length of the bar, Gillespie Design Group took cues from the friendly proprietor who sought to incorporate a signature and defining feature.
